Fall Day of Action Project One of Many Across Region
Freedom took part in the United Way of Central Maryland’s 2016 “Fall Day of Action” on October 19. Anna’s House, a Bel Air shelter for women and children, received a landscaping makeover. The gorgeous fall day made it a great time to be outside. Volunteers weeded, raked, mulched, planted, and enjoyed the comradery of this feel-good event.
Freedom staffer Susan Tannahill digs weeds from a garden at Anna’s House in Bel Air.
Freedom strives to give back with at least one volunteer project per month. Previous Freedom volunteer projects include a United Way Stone Soup event, Riding for the Handicapped at Normandy Farms, a day with Habitat for Humanity of Susquehanna, and a United Way corn maze function.
Look for the newly redesigned Freedom van on Saturday, October 29. Freedom will be at the Trunk or Treat celebration at Mountain Christian church. Staff volunteers will be dressed for fun and armed with candy!
