Your Recurring Transactions
If you use your debit card for automatic payments such as utilities, insurance, or subscriptions (e.g. Amazon, EZPass, memberships), update your payment info with your new Freedom Debit Card details—card number, expiration date, and payment address—once activated.
Please remember that transactions cannot start until January 2, 2026.
Account Statements
Transaction History and Historical Statements: After December 31, 2025, historical account statements may no longer be accessible online. Please download any statements you may need beforehand.
Accessing New Statements: Beginning January 1, 2026, statements will be sent from electronicservices@freedomfcu.org, please mark this address as ‘not spam’. To view them on your account, be sure to enroll in Freedom’s online banking on or after January 2, 2026.
eStatements: Enroll in eStatements to enjoy reduced rates when paired with automatic payments on many loan products and avoid future paper statement fees. Learn how to enroll.
Simplified Card Management with Superior Functionality
Freedom’s Card Manager is a free mobile app that gives you advanced control, convenience, and security over your Freedom debit and credit cards, right from your smartphone or tablet.
After easy download and installation, you simply register your Freedom debit and credit cards on the app to have total, instant control of your cards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why am I getting a new debit card?
As part of the merger process, AFFCU’s debit cards have been upgraded to Freedom’s enhanced Visa® debit cards. This transition ensures that all products and systems are aligned under Freedom, which also provides members with improved benefits.
Q: When can I start using my new card?
You can activate your new card starting December 22, 2025, and it will be ready for use beginning January 2, 2026.
Q: What should I do with my old card?
Continue to use your AFFCU debit card through December 30th, 2025. We recommend keeping the card for a period of 90 days or until all pending returns or adjustments are completed or for 90 days. Merchants sometimes require the original card used for the purchase, even if the card is no longer active for everyday use. After 90 days, we recommend destroying your old card.
Q: Will I receive a debit card?
- Yes – If you have an existing activated AFFCU debit card.
- If you did not have an activated AFFCU debit card and would like to order one, please contact us at 1-800-440-4120 or visit any branch location starting January 2, 2026.
Q: Will I get a new PIN?
You will need to set a new PIN via the activation phone number that comes with your new card.
Q: How do I select/change a PIN after the card has been activated?
If you did not select a PIN when activating your new Freedom debit card, call 1-866-985-2273 to select or change your PIN.
Q: When can I start using my new card?
- December 22, 2025: Activate your new Freedom card on or after December 22, 2025.
- December 30, 2025: Keep using your AFFCU debit card through December 30, 2025.
- December 31, 2025 – January 1, 2026: All AFFCU systems will go offline including your debit card. Please make preparations to have cash on hand or to use alternative payments.
- January 2, 2026: Your new Freedom debit card is ready for use, and you are now a full fledged Freedom member, all your accounts have been transitioned!
Q: Where can I find a fee-free ATM?
Visit any of our branch locations—each includes an ATM that is free for members—or use our “Find an ATM Near You” feature to locate other in-network, fee-free ATMs.
Q: What are my debit card daily limits?
- $500 ATM withdrawal limit
- $1,000 purchase limit with PIN
- $3,000 signature-based transaction limit (purchases without a PIN) or a 10-transaction limit—whichever is lower.
Q: Will my new card have enhanced security?
Yes. Your new Freedom credit card features an EMV chip and contactless payment features.
Q: Will my personal card alerts transfer?
No. You’ll need to re-establish your custom alerts for your new card through the Freedom’s Card Manager App.
Will I need to enroll in SMS Fraud Alerts?
Members are automatically enrolled in Fraud Alerts for debit cards. Members will receive the option to opt-out with their first fraud notification. If there is no mobile number listed, members will receive an email or phone call.
Q: What should I do if I notice unauthorized charges?
If you think your card information was compromised, you can immediately place a freeze on your card by using Freedom’s Card Manager App and/or call us at 1-800-440-4120.
Q: Will disputes from my old card carry over?
Yes. Any open disputes will continue to be processed under the original terms.
Q: How do I report a lost or stolen card?
To report your card lost or stolen, use Freedom’s Card Manager App, call us at 1-800-440-4120, or visit any branch location.
Q: Can I add or remove joint account owners after the conversion?
Yes. Contact the credit union to make changes to your account.
Q: Will joint account owners receive new debit cards?
Yes. Joint owners should receive their new debit cards with their own unique card number in December.
Q: What should I do about automatic payments?
After activating your new card, be sure to update your payment info with merchants (e.g., utilities, subscriptions) using your new card number and expiration date to avoid service interruptions and denials.
Q: Will my new card work with Apple Pay and Google Pay?
Yes. Once your new card is activated, you can add it to your preferred mobile wallet.
Q: How do I access my debit card digitally?
Download Freedom’s Card Manager App to seamlessly manage your card- set up payments, track spending, set alerts, and dispute transactions, all from the app, and all in real-time.
Q: If I don’t have a smartphone, how can I access information on my Freedom debit card.
View your account history including debit transactions through Freedom’s Online Banking. Enrollment opens January 2, 2026. Learn how to enroll in Online Banking.
Q: What if I receive a credit/return from a merchant on the old card number after December 30, 2025?
Credits/returns from a merchant will be processed to the new card starting January 2, 2026.

Q: How do I request a replacement card?
Freedom does not offer instant-issue debit cards. Call us at 1-800-440-4120 or visit a branch to order a replacement card. Your card will arrive in 7-10 business days.
