Freedom is a community credit union— which means that if you live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Harford County, Maryland you can now join Freedom and enjoy all the benefits! Immediate family members of a person eligible for membership, that is a spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, and adoptive relationships, even if they do not live, work or worship, volunteer, or attend school in Harford County, are also eligible for memberhsip. Membership is also available to anyone who belongs to a household of a credit union eligible individual. That is - persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit. (This includes any person who is a permanent member of and participates in the maintenance of the household. For example, two people sharing an apartment would be considered a household. Additionally, the immediate family members of each household member who joins could also join, because eligibility is then tied to the household member.) As a full-service credit union, owned by its members, Freedom’s mission is to be Harford County's Better Way To Bank. We are a not-for-profit organization, which means all money earned by the credit union is returned to our members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and improved or additional services.
