Established in Baltimore as MATCOM Federal Credit Union to serve the military and civilian employees of the Chemical Corps Materiel Command

Relocated to Edgewood Arsenal in Harford County

Assets of $200,000, average loan was $400

Introduced ‘Share draft’ checking accounts

Expanded charter - U.S. Post Offices in Harford County

Merged with Fallston Hospital Credit Union

Introduced real estate loans

Opened Hoadley & Blackhawk Roads Office

50th Anniversary Celebration
Opened Park Ave. Branch and relocated the Festival Branch in April

Opened full-service, 24-hour, drive-up ATM at the Edgewood Area, APG branch. 

"Ask the CEO" feature introduced on Freedom's web site, giving members and non-members 24-hour access to the CEO.

2005
"Live Chat" feature added to Freedom's web site, making Freedom the first credit union in the area to offer real-time, online access to dialogue with Freedom's financial service representatives.
 2006

Introduced a full range of business banking services.

Introduced three new Youth Programs:  Choices, CU Succeed, and the Kirby Kangaroo Club.

2007 Introduced Freedom Rewards Checking program designed to reward members for using Freedom's products and services.  Rewards include many free services, higher deposit rates, lower loan rates, and loan interest rebates when certain criteria are met.
2008 Opened fourth branch in Havre de Grace, MD. in October. At 1830 Pulaski Highway, this convenient location was picked with special attention to all Freedom's eastern Harford County area.
